Key findings of the Report:

1.  From our analysis, we identified significant gaps in the recommended number of collection volumes, reader seating space, and special use space.

2. Based upon the application of the Wisconsin benchmarks to the required collection of the 185,000 design population, a new
main library building would require approximately 87,000 sq ft. This figure does not include a 300 seat multi-purpose room.

3. The building size of 87,000 sq ft represents a significant increase over the comparable 70,000 ft contained in the 2017 Functional Plan  and will result in increased project costs.

4. The cost to operate a facility that is almost three times the size of the current facility will significantly increase current cost levels. These operating costs will be dependent upon building design, construction and operations.
