Program Volunteers for the Guelph Public Library

A Great New Opportunity for Friends of the GPL

Would you like to be a real friend of the Guelph Public Library? Become a Program Volunteer! Attend Guelph Public Library programs and give the staff a hand.

The library always has a full schedule of exciting events for children, teens and adults. These are often popular well attended programs where staff would benefit hugely from the presence of another person, a Program Volunteer who can help things run more smoothly by carrying out non-professional tasks such as:

  • Greeting program participants
  • Directing them to staff for assistance
  • Helping staff with set-up and take down
  • Serving refreshments
  • Helping to maintain a safe environment
  • Being available to assist if an emergency arises
  • Answering general questions

It is easy to be part of the Program Volunteering team. Click this link to SignUp.com to see a full range of programs and events where your help will make a big difference. Each opportunity is fully described so that you can find one (or several) that are right for you. New events will be added regularly.

Please note: Before your first volunteer shift, you must complete a short online training package that will be sent to you by Meg Forestell-Page, GPL’s Supervisor of Programming and Digital Services.
