We believe that a definition of membership based solely on paid annual fees fails to be inclusive of our much broader community of supporters. Such as ….. people who help us provide our programs and stage our events. People who volunteer to work at our annual book sale. People who love the local library and continue to support it through their advocacy. We want to strengthen and build our organization by including everyone who wants to belong. For that reason we no longer require an annual membership fee. What we really want is your personal support.

Our mailing list will now send communications to everyone regardless of their level of involvement with the Friends. We want everyone to know what we are doing and that everyone has an opportunity to participate in the Friends’ community work and programs. This does not mean that we do not need or value your financial support, but we’d like it to be completely voluntary. You are always welcome to contribute financially to the FGPL through our Canada Helps account, where donations of $10 or more will receive a tax receipt.

We value everyone’s contribution to the Friends, whatever you choose to offer, and thank you for your continuing support.
